(Formerly Easy to Assemble)
The Gnome is chrome at its hottest! Standing just a little over 10 inches tall with super shiny chrome and sapphire blue colors, this is one great looking, mini engine powered cloud chaser that can reach altitudes of well over 800 feet. Recovery is fast and reliable with its orange colored streamer for easy tracking after a super fast flight!
The Gnome is another in our series of beginner skill level kits and features a chrome wrapped body tube, a bright blue pre-colored one piece fin unit, nose cone and upper launch lug ring. The rocket takes about 30 minutes to build and is finished off with a colorful, easy to apply self-stick decal.
WHAT YOU NEED TO BUILD: Scissors, pencil, ruler, fine sandpaper, plastic cement, hobby knife, masking tape and clear tape. Tools, construction and finishing supplies not included.
WHAT YOU NEED TO LAUNCH (sold separately): Estes Porta-Pad II Launch Pad and Electron Beam Launch Controller, Estes model rocket engines, starters and recovery wadding. Four 1.5V high quality AA alkaline batteries are also required for launch controller (not included).

Great, speedy little rocket; it flies true. Useful for the first shot of the day to check the wind. One flight with a A10-3T on a dead-calm morning, it landed about three feet from the launch pad.
After its third flight, however, the main tube warped right by the top of the engine holder was warped when it landed…most likely from the force of ejection. I’ll add a little bit of reinforcement in this spot for our next one.
