Beginner Skill
(Formerly Easy to Assemble)

The No. 2 Sky Writer rocket is a one-of-a-kind design from the creative guys at the Estes rocket shop. It’s the very first model rocket to replicate the good ole’ No. 2 wooden pencil. A rocket shaped like a pencil? Yep…we’re just that good!

This high performance rocket was designed to erase the law of gravity while it races up to 1,100 feet and returns safely on its colorful 12 inch parachute. This giant replica of an iconic writing tool stands over 2 feet tall and comes with a conveniently pre-colored body tube that looks like the real thing – eraser and all! It really looks just like a pencil streaking toward the clouds! If you’ve never seen a school supply fly, here’s your chance!

The No. 2 Sky Writer is a beginner level kit, which means quick and easy assembly that usually takes about an hour or less. After the basic rocket is assembled, complete the pencil look with the self-stick decal.

    Kool rocket

Looks like a pencil, but flys like a dart, straight up. I think it needs a little more parachute. Tube got bent on first flight.

    easy and fun

built this with my 8 year old daughter, less than an hour to assemble. We let the glue dry and flew it the next weekend on the school’s football field using the recommended first flight engines. launched it 3 times, now off to the hobby shop for more (bigger) engines for next weekend.

    Straight up forever!!!

I bought this when I bought my son’s Taser for Christmas. Launched it on an A8-3 and it flew straight and my son caught it about 40 feet from the pad. Launched it again on a C6-7 and it went up FOREVER! Waited for what seemed like forever for the chute to pop, then it floated down and landed about 60 feet from the pad. Thank goodness for the calm winds! Looks great on the pad.

    On our third one!!

My son loves this rocket. The first one got lost in the trees to be never seen again. The second one did not make it off the pad due to Dad malfunction (I cut the side to much to mount the lauch guide tube). Number three is ready to go and we shalll how it dies. Great concept rocket!!

This is a must have. It so funny seeing a pencil flying in the air. It’s a funny design. And guess what, IT HAS A FLIPPING ERASER. Still 1100 feet is pretty high. Great rocket
