This Estes rocket is Yankee doodle dandy! The patriotic Yankee is a super performance model with a one-of-a-kind shaped nose cone. The aerodynamic nose cone gives this patriot the extra push it needs to fly way above the average rocket its size.

    First Prize.

Built this rocket with my son when he was 10 years old. I let him do most of it, if I remember all I did was paint it. It was for a 4H project for model rocket making. Great little rocket for small fields. A B-6-4 motor works great.

    Simple rocket, great performer

This rocket was one of the first builds I undertook after getting back into the hobby. Assembly was quick and easy.

What makes this rocket great is the performance and flexibility. Assuming you build it properly this rocket will give you arrow straight flights to decent altitudes with A, B, or C motors. This rocket is lightweight so even an A8-3 motor will get the rocket to a decent altitude. In fact, I use the standard to mini motor adapters and fly my Yankee with A10-3T motors. Due to launch field size limitations I have not been able to use a motor over a B so I can only imagine what a C motor would do.

The only things I would change is to put a longer shock cord on the rocket and go back to the waterslide decals.

    First Rocket kit

I built the Yankee to show a small group of boys at our church, what they could do and have fun doing it. Was able to launch it 15 times before it landed in the top of an 60 foot oak tree on the churches property line. Since then we have rocketry classes each year in our churches Royal Ranger Program so that the boys can obtain a rocketry badge. (Royal Rangers is similar to Boy Scouts.)

    Spot on!

All of these reviews are spot on! The Yankee is a keeper. This bad boy reaches to the heavens and is very pleasing to the eye! Get it.

i like this rocket because it flies high and it came back each time i flew it!

  6. Matt

    My fastest rocket EVER

My first streamer and balsa nose cone. I loved this one. So simple to put together. I spent some time getting it right, sanded and sealed everything, painted it all pretty… so worth it. The Yankee outclimbed both of my two-stagers with a B-motor. I got seven good flights with this one before the fins finally broke when it landed in a road. You could rig it with a very small, lightweight parachute if you want, but if you’ve got a large enough field and no wind, the streamer will bring it back safely. Excellent purchase. I might get another one with my reward points just for the heck of it.

    First rocket

One of the first rockets built. Was fun to fly until a tree grabbed it.

    sweet rocket

I built it and painted it within and hour. The next day, I shot it off with a c6-5 and my jaw hit the floor!!! It went so high i coudn’t see the bright orange streamers!! That’s the kind of rocket I like.

  9. Jack

Fun to build and looks great!

This rocket is awesome! I just finished building it and haven’t flown it yet. It’s super easy to build, I’m eleven and built it completely by myself. It’s only my fourth rocket. It looks great and I definitely recommend this to anyone who’s looking for a model rocket that they can still have fun building and not get stuck unless they don’t have the right materials.

Say see ya! with a C6-3

Insane heights with this rocket and C engines, be prepared to try and locate it. Just picked up another one of these. I only wish it had water transfer decals instead of stickers.
