Intermediate Skill

This Estes rocket is Yankee doodle dandy! The patriotic Yankee is a super performance model with a one-of-a-kind shaped nose cone. The aerodynmaic nose cone gives this patriot the extra push it needs to fly way above the average rocket its size.

  1. Brandon

    High Flier!

Be careful flying this on a C6-7, it will go out if sight! It’s very easy to build and the stickers and paint scheme make for a very patriotic display model.

  2. Gabe

    so…friggin…awesome

this rocket was probably the highest flying rockets with the littlest power engine

  3. Ryan

Simple, durable and a bit crazy.

This is the rocket to get altitude with stand size engines, Almost lost it on the first launch with a B engine. The second launch on a C it went out of sight. On an a composite D engine it disappeared for good, but man did it scream towards the heavens!

  4. Jim

    Super quick off the pad!

This is a fun rocket kit that can accept larger engines, but we have the most fun with the simple “A” sized engines. It performs well – and the streamer recovery is fun to watch. We’ve launched this rocket a number of times and have had perfect recoveries every time. I definitely recommend this one if you are considering it.

  5. zach

    WOW!

This rocket goes miles! At least it seemed. The rocket was easily built and shot amazingly. It just went and went and went. Im very thankful there was no wind cause it landed 100 yards away anyway. Great rocket.

  6. Twyla

    Moves out!

Built this for my son. Don’t need much more than an A in this one. Lost mine as a kid with a C. I wonder if the Big Yank is ever coming back. Maybe just glue 2 Yankees together? I don’t know if that would be safe though. Either way, this is a fast, high flying, awesome rocket, everyone must add to the collection. One of my favorites .

  7. Zac

    Pleasing simple build

This was my and my son’s (<10) first build since I've been back into rocketry. Easy enough to build and great for those that are short on time. It suited my son's short attention span very well, and at the launch site, the reactions were even better.

  8. Ryan

    4th of July favorite

Since the Yankee first came out, I have flown several, and it is always a patriotic crowd pleaser, Simple to build and paint. You’ll love it….Buy 2 or more!

  9. Paul

    10/10

soared into the sky very far away and dissapeared Awesome

  10. Gyes

    Quick and Easy

Straightforward build and an easy paint job make this a quick and fun rocket. I picked up this kit because it was easy and inexpensive, but I was a bit worried about streamer recovery and not having laser cut fins. Both of those are actually good things, however. This rocket flies so high that if it came down with a parachute and even the slightest breeze, you’d need a field much bigger than I can find around me. There’s enough spare balsa to build a replacement fin if you manage to crack one in a rough landing.
