    totally cool

I think the Crossfire was so cool because I could find it every time and it never went too far (we used B6-4 engines).

  2. ketch

    cool rocket

I found the crossfire in a tree so i didn’t get the launch pad or the amazon. it flies so high and will go almost out of sight on even a clear day with the B6-4s and is very light so windy days dont work at all. but very sturdy little rocket and lots of fun

    Great value

Terrific value and loads of fun. I’ve launched the Amazon many times now (go with the C6-5) and it flies true – also quite durable. The Crossfire is a hoot, though take the advice of the other reviewer to use enough wadding and pack the chute carefully; I was too hasty and the chute melted together (though still provided a soft landing). Careful to fly on windless days – I almost lost my Amazon and the Cross will go out of sight on C engines (but flies really well). Super starter kit!

These were my first rockets they are both amazing and my crossfire went into space using an E engine.

    Great price

We spent a great afternoon firing off the Amazon with B and C engines. The Amazon was very easy to build and all my boys were able to help build the rocket and the launch stand. The Crossfire came with a bad fin and will take more work to put together and paint but looking forward to starting on it. With the Amazon the B engines are great but if you use the C engines make sure you have a rather large area and the wind is not blowing because it will take awhile for the rocket to drift back down on the parachute and has the potential to blow over 100 yards easily. Overall the price is great and you get a pretty quick bang for the buck with the Amazon and get some experience with a more complicated rocket with the Crossfire.

This was my first model rocket kit and I loved it! The crossfire was recovered. I used B6-4 engines. The amazon was great rocket. Both recovery parachutes worked. GREAT KIT

    great rockets

  8. Charlie

Excellent rockets at an affordable price!

I got these as my first model rockets, and both of them fly great. I would recommend C6-5s for the Amazon, but the Crossfire goes almost out of sight with B4-2s.
With the Amazon, be careful to properly pack the parachute, and don’t forget the wadding or your parachute will melt! And remember to hold down the launch button on the launch controller or the engine will not ignite.
Both rockets are very durable. My Crossfire landed in a lake on its first flight, but I dried it out and now it works fine. My Amazon has survived two hard landings, once when the parachute did not fully deploy and once when the parachute melted. 🙂
Overall, tons of fun; highly recommended. (just don’t melt your ‘chute!)

600 feet is more than it sounds like! the rockets fired well without any missfires. The Crossfire is GREAT!!! The Amazon is very durable.

My first two rockets. Overall, I was impressed. I had watched the videos of these rockets on Estes’ Youtube channel. They didn’t seem to go as high as mine did. I did some research and saw that I had C6-5 engines in them and that is considered a larger engine. I will definitely begin building more model rockets. The Crossfire was a blast to build and fly! I will most definitely make my next model rocket purchase from Estes.
