Description

Advanced Skill
(Formerly Skill Level 2)

BIG is better! Well in most things – big is better. Using Estes E engines, this highly streamlined rocket can reach a cloud topping 900 feet. If you prefer to keep it suborbital, it will also fly extremely well on C11 engines or D engines! Either way, this extreme rocket returns to earth on a colorful 24 inch pre-assembled parachute.

Standing just under 20 inches tall and having a Big Daddy waist size of 3 inches, This high powered bullet is built to handle all the power you can stuff into the motor tube.

Experience in model building and finishing is necessary to build this big guy, but the end result is worth the effort.

    Great kit…

We have built three of these and love them. Having said that, this is really almost more of a mid-power kit–and is an excellent bridging rocket into that part of rocketry. We had trouble keeping the stock chute from burning (as well as the shock cord) given the large diameter of the tube. Two of the kits have been upgraded to piston ejection (eliminating the “getting enough wadding in there” problem) and a kevlar shock chord. With E-engines, these things fly really well and we highly recommend them.

  2. Danny

    Fun kit.

I got this to fly on a wide variety of the larger engines. Plus, it’s a good lookin rocket…..

  3. Jeff

    Great rocket for demo flights

The Big Daddy was a fairly simple rocket to build and with the wide choice of motors available to fly on, it delivers out-of-sight performance, but can also be a graceful, low and slow demonstration rocket. It’s size makes it easy to track and crowds love it!

    Great Looking Rocket!

I really enjoyed finishing this rocket. I went with the standard paint job and I think it looks great. I had a little trouble with the clear coat as I didn’t let the base paint fully cure. An awesome looking rocket.

    Very nice!

Love this kit! The huge nose cone makes this this rocket good looking. I also like the big decals, just take your time with them. This fat rocket will not disappoint.

  7. Daniel

    Cool

Another great flyer…just be careful putting the big decals on.

    Great Rocket

Easy to build, fun to launch. The only thing I had trouble with was getting the decals on. There are some big ones on this rocket.
