Beginner Skill
(Formerly Easy to Assemble)

High performance model rocketry that’s a SNAP! The 16 inch Dragonite is the newest addition to the Estes Snaps line of model rockets.

When you don’t have lots of time for building and painting a rocket, this is your best bet. Snap together rockets are perfect for young, new rocketeers.

The Dragonite rocket kit literally “snaps” together in minutes with the uniquely molded plastic fin set. The precolored body tube attaches easily and the die cut decals are a breeze to apply. In just minutes you will have built your first model rocket that looks like it was made by a pro!

As easy as the Dragonite is to assemble, the main feature is the high performance flight profile which can easily reach altitudes over 1,100 feet on Estes standard model rocket engines. Recovery of your rocket after each cloud-topping flight is provided by a colorful, 12 inch parachute.

    Good Beginner Rocket

As a previous reviewer has stated this is the sister to the Flash rocket than comes in a launch set. I like this rocket – it’s snap together design makes for a easy to build rocket that after it is completed is a bit bigger and heavier and in my opinion tougher rocket some other starter rockets. Although I glued the two halves of the fin/motor assembly together you probably don’t have to since the motor cap also keeps the halves together. But I would glue the fin/motor assembly to the body tube – I wouldn’t trust just the stick on decal to keep the tabs in the slot. Great flyer on B impulse motors like its sister.

seems to be same as the Flash rocket with different decals

I bought my daughter a Flash rocket kit for her 1st rocket. started with A, and graduated to B & C as we got more used to chasing it. this seems to be same rocket with slightly different decals. works extremely well, and she is very happy with it. the snap together parts assembly is fast enough to satisfy even the “instant gratification” crowd. very pleased with this and have built several others since. We now have 7 rockets total with more on order.

This rocket really scoots. My son used this in a contest last year and did well

  5. Nicholas

    Good rocket

This rocket is a good rocket overall but i dont know what happend the last launch but it just fell from the sky and one of the fins broke off. sadly we couldent find it so we couldent fix it but its an overall good rocket.

    Small but high flier

Have enjoyed flights with this one. Has done well mutiple times and one of mine and my son’s favorite

  7. Jason

    Great launch! Very high!

I assembled one of these today in about 20 mins. I lost it in the trees about a 1/4 mile away on a C6-7 engine. Be sure to have LOTS of space if you use a C6-7.

    AWESOME

Had a launch for a group of Cub Scouts. Two of the boys, including mine, made the Dragonite. Unfortunately these were the only two lost during the event because they flew higher than the rest! Easy to assemble (with adult help) and boy did these go!! Each boy stepped from A to B to C motors and had an excellent time! Thanks Estes.
