Excellent kit with a lot of parts. It was challenging, but a fun build.

Excellent builder’s kit – thank you Estes

I can’t add much to what has already been written here, except that I really enjoyed building this kit. Directions and parts quality are excellent. Haven’t flown it yet – the paint is still drying :-).

    Gorgeous rocket

I’ve built plenty of tubes-with-fins rockets, so a space plane/cruise missile looking kit really caught my eye. Even better, it was Skill level 5, nice and challenging and would keep me busy over quite a few episodes of whatever I’m watching while building. I built mine per the plans, including the paint job, and it looks stunning with the blue paint and the decals applied. The exhaust nozzle is a nice touch that adds to the level of finish. This one took a while to build, but that only enhances the level of satisfaction at seeing it finally completed, not to mention the ooh’s and ahh’s at the rocket club meeting.

Due to waiting for a big-field launch, I have yet to fly mine, but looking forward to doing so next month.

    Quality Skill 5 kit

The Conquest is a great kit for builders looking for a challenge. Though many refer to it as a plane carrying bombs, it’s really inspired by old-school cruise missiles like the Snark and Regulus II, and those are fuel tanks under the wings. There is a lot of wood to this kit with many wooden subassemblies making up the wings, vertical tail, and engine inlets. If sanding, sealing, and combining lots of wooden pieces together is your thing, this is the rocket for you! Take your time when putting this together and painting it, and you’ll end up with a really gorgeous ship that looks great on display, on the pad, or in the air. I found it challenging to achieve the indicated weight with the glue, primer, and paint for the sturdy, quality look I was going for, but the finished product still goes pretty high on D and E motors. Conquest definitely deserves to be in the fleet of experienced builders!
