A nice looking model that’s fairly easy to put together. The details on the plastic nosecone are a nice touch. Beveling the fins is the most time-consuming part. Is is underpowered? That depends what you want to see. A C will get it up past 600′ and that’s fine for me.

With its sleek sounding rocket design ,pointed nose cone and to scale Florescent color fins. This kit is fun to build and paint. impressive flights and fun to watch come back down.

The Nike Smoke is a nice rocket, but under powered on 18mm motors. I am modifying mine, for 24mm E motors, using a screw type motor retainer, slotting the body tube, redrawing the fins, with through tube slot extensions, installing an ejection baffle, a GPS tracker and nose cone ballast. Near minimum diameter and should be impressive off the pad

Great scale flyer
Light enough to fly on an 18mm motor with an adapter but tough enough for D motors. Plus getting a near scale look is easy to achieve with the simple paint scheme .

I just plain LOVE sounding rockets. This model is my first Nike Smoke. I found it pretty impossible to shape the fins correctly , so I just gave the fins an edge. (it’ll do and looks ok) Painted to match the package and I also mounted a 24mm motor mount for those calm days. On an 18mm C motor with a 18 to 24mm adapter, it flys good enough. Flown with a D-12-5, it’s flat out awesome!
