    Size/Weight

I love the Size to Weight ratio of this kit. It has the perfect size and balance. Beautiful kit, with even Better Performance. A good First for your Above D engine kit.

  2. Leo

    Great no nonsense flyer

The Estes Ascender is a simple and easy rocket to build. It also flies great.
This rocket has a special place in my fleet as I purchased three kits and converted them to a 2-stage configuration with in-flight sustainer ignition and dual deploy recovery. I really love this rocket and so do the spectators.
Here is a video of a typical 2-stage low altitude flight profile: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aktA5WqrEMs

    Quick Build

The PS 2 Ascender is an easy to build sleek design. A good intro to the big boys. Be sure to give attention to the motor mounting set up. If you plan to only use black power motors then put the block in but if you are only using composite motors don’t . The problem is that I have seen people not put the block and try to use a black power motor. The motor simply flies right up through the rocket.

    Awesome rocket !

This is my first E2X rocket, I bought from hobby lobby. Its an awesome rocket! flies great on F-15s!

    Awesome Flier, Some Considerations

This is a stunningly beautiful design. The payload bay is a major plus. The composite motors are great. I used a G64-10W on my second flight. It was beyond incredible and very stable. Just be careful of the nosecone. Lost mine even though it was nicely friction fitted. I’m adding a retaining pin to my replacement nosecone. I plan many flights with this one.
