This was a fun build.
Excellent design and works every time
It’s rocket engine ejection wadding. Doesn’t burn and works as it’s designed to do.
I haven't unboxed the space shuttle yet, but knowing from my past experience it will be fantastic and of very high quality. So, here's the scoop. I'm 62 now, I started building rockets in about 1972 or 74. My first rocket was called a "Sky Hook.," From there I built a number other rockets. One of the most memorable ones was a two stage rocket called the Omega with the blue and black tail fin decals. That rocket was awesome and I wish Estes would bring it back. When I was in sixth grade we had rocketry class, which would now probably be classified as "STEAM." I renumber one of my classmate built a huge rocket called the "Andromeda." That would probably classify as a level five now. It was a great launch. I had a lot of rockets over the years with all sizes of power cells. I lost touch with rockets once I entered the working world. I got into computing in the early 80's, which let me into a 25 year career with the Boeing Aerospace Company. I took early retirement in 2022 and walked over to Alaska Airline and got the job I wanted my whole life, until I developed bone infection in both feet. Long story short, remembering the best times of my youth and still buying Estes Rockets, just too display. Kind Regards, Be Blessed, Mark Lanz
Although I cannot reveal the secrets of the Mystery Rocket Box, I can say that there are fabulous riches contained within. All of the rocket-makers at our house are highly stoked!
We haven’t utilized it yet . My ninth grade students are still designing their rockets and doing the research for the STEM projects.
Where to begin? My rockets have never ceased to amaze me. I launched big Bertha 3 times in a row and it performed flawlessly each time. The recovery system saved the rocket perfectly. If I could leave a review for every one of their products I would. The engines didn’t misfire a single time, the porta pads are sturdy and every launch looks awesome. I couldn’t recommend Estes more! ( I’ve been an Estes customer for five years and I love their products more with every launch)
Great history of the earl years of the hobby and the efforts to make the hobby safe and reliable.
I used to do business with Century Engineering years ago. One of my favorite rocket was the Arcon High, a two stage rocket. The next favorite was the Apollo launch vehicle. It stood 36 inches in height and flow with a cluster fier of three C6-3 engines. I noticed that you have the Saturn Five as well with a multiple engine selection possibilities. I will have one of those soon! I'm satisfied with you product quality and delivery time. Iconic space vehicles are a good thing to keep available. A V-2 rocket that flies on D&E engines would find that I'm an interested buyer.
This is a neat rocket, I really like the unique models.
I really like this rocket 🚀
I haven’t read it yet, though I am looking forward..
I’m reading it as I write this! Wonderful story!
I’m only on chapter 3, but memories are flooding back to my own experiences in 1965-66!! I wish I could find the plan I drew up on new designs I prepared to build and submit to the Estes company!
Love this book!!
It's an interesting venture to want to create safe Rocketry; considering the Model Rockets of the past were dangerous for the novice to Rocketry.
I love having a printed catalog I can hold in my hand, refer back to and look at, and I really appreciate the 2026 catalog. It is very well put together, and while I have been an Estes customer since the 1970's, I have never stopped loving and having the Estes catalog in my library.
