Using these to repair a few aging shock cords in my rockets

It has been 50 years since I built an Estes rocket and the quality has only improved. I wanted a heavier rocket to use with my grandkids and this was the perfect choice. Just finished it yesterday, so no chance to launch it yet, but we are all looking forward to that first launch.

D12-7 worked fine in my modified super mosquito. Unfortunately the D12-5 that was used on second flight CATO'd and destroyed my rocket.

Epoxy fillets and papering on the fins so there is a slight increase in weight and a little more strength. Add a rip stop parachute and this rocket hits it. It outperforms my regular 18mm Red Max by about 150 ft and sounds good getting there. Still nice and safe and stable. If you haven't guessed, it is the one on the right in white. As with ANY MODIFICATION, simulations and testing are mandatory!

From paper route money and ads in Boy's Life magazine 55 years ago to today. Estes has been part of my life. They have always been there for me when I needed rocketry related items. Now with the Pro Series as well as some of the classic kits from my childhood, I never get bored with building their products.
