from 2223 reviewsWill be a build soon have like over 10 rocket kits to make....

Have yet to launch it, but the kit went together easily and the instructions were very clear. Exactly what I had expected for a beginner model.

This wadding always works very well

My 50 plus year old Cherokee D went great after decades in a box.

Got these for my grandsons, they love it!

Looks pretty cool, haven't built it yet. Pkg is really flashy. Estes shipped it very quickly and it was packed very well!

Great model. Underpowered I think, but you can fix that.

What a great kit! There’s plenty of detail here to engage an experienced modeler but it’s still easy enough for less experienced builders. The fins were cleanly cut and the balsa was good quality. The molding on the plastic parts was excellent. I especially liked the plastic tail assembly. Having that pre-molded greatly simplified assembly. The color scheme and markings are cool. I’m looking forward to flying it this coming weekend.

Fun and easy to build with unique recovery system. after ejecting the engine with bright orange streamer, the back half of the wings fold, one up, one down. The result is a gently spinning flight back to the ground. In the video, look for the engine streaming down on the left and the spinning rocket descending near the top, unfortunately my phone did not adjust the focus to capture the recovery stage well. On its next flight I’ll try to get the recovery stage in focus

Great high quality parts that need only a little adjustment for fitment. However the fins are one inch longer that what is on the instructions. So by following the 5” from end measurement, the end of wings nearly overlap with the tops of the fins. So I set my wings at 6” from the end of the tube to get the proper spacing between wings and fins. The alignment stand and angle tool was very helpful in getting the wings and fins in the right places. I would love to have such alignment tools for every model. I haven’t flown it yet, but when I do, I’ll post an update. Thank you Estes for a great kit

This is a fascinating build. The parts, instructions, and the detailed construction video are top notch. The unique booster parachute compartment is well thought out. Take your time cutting the fin slots and booster compartment into the body tubes. To keep the weight down, I did several small things, like using lighter weight parachutes than the ones that came with the kit, and finishing with ink instead of paint and decals.
The first flight was with F15-0 to F15-6. Immediately at staging, the second stage trajectory angled about 15 to 20 degrees from vertical. The second flight was with E16-0 to E16-6. Again, the second stage trajectory angled off somewhat from vertical. Since the stage coupler must be sliced twice during assembly, the stages do not hold together as snugly as desired. I will modify my next Vogel by having the stage coupler extend further into the upper stage, so that the two stages might hold together more rigidly until stage separation.
