Great product, great service, just like always

The Athena is a great rocket if you want something beginner friendly that you can just take out and fly. I got it for my son as a gift after we already built a different kit rocket. We liked the kit, but we wanted something he could fly right after getting it.

The elastic shock cord avoids issues we had with shock cords pulling off the anchor, and itnwent about 200 feet up on A8-3 motors.

My only qualm is that the plastic parachute has a tendency to stick to itself when damp and not fully deploy.

This rocket does NOT come with everything needed to launch. I bought this for my kid from Santa because The description said “fully assembled…ready to fly.” I don’t know anything about rockets, so I assumed it had everything needed to launch in the box.

However, you apparently have to purchase separately a launch pad system, recovery wads, and engines. Maybe this is common knowledge for rocket fans, but for a novice like me who was buying it for a kid, it would have been nice if the description was clearer about the extra stuff I needed to buy so we could have had everything here for Christmas. This rocket was from Santa so now my 7 year old is trying to figure out why Santa didn’t bring everything and why I’m ordering extra stuff from an actual company instead of writing a note to the North Pole.
