Stole the show!

We went to the local model rocket club launch and this shuttle stole the show! I took care the balance the glider exactly as stated in the directions and it was worth it. Perfect, graceful flights back to earth!

I'm OK not having spent weeks building and painting this model ( been there, done that). I have a young rocketeer that is just not into that part. Looks great, flies great!

The booster tubes are light and you do need to be careful putting on the stabilizer fins. Grip the booster nozzle as other reviewers have mentioned. Rockets are built light for a reason. Also... make sure you watch the boosters after separation! The first flight, everyone was watching the Shuttle glide gracefully back to earth and nobody saw where the boosters landed, lol. We did eventually find it, and assigned someone to watch the boosters after that. Had an awesome time launching it over and over again!

Thank you Estes! ❤️

Great Flyer! But Be Careful!

Overall this is a great RTF model, although it is VERY PRICEY. It looks great on display, and actually flies very well. Balancing the Shuttle was very easy. I marked the bottom of the shuttle where the instructions told me to, taped a string to it, and added clay to the well, and then removed clay till the shuttle was level. My well is about 1/3rd filled with clay.
The biggest disapointment I have is how thin the SRB tube are. You have to be VERY CAREFUL not to hold onto them while inserting or removing the Fin Units. They will not support that. Now I got a small crease in my SRB. Oppsie. Best to grip the stack by the Booster Nozzles when dealing with the fins. I also ran into a problem the first time I went to install a motor. The end of the BT-20 was not clean. Was very rough. I had to use a knife to "Debur" the motor tube on field by carefully removing the raised edges of the motor tube to get the motor to fit. Only other "complaint" is the glider only has one attachment point, which is addequite to hold the shuttle on the stack in flight... however, with the slightest breeze the shuttle wants to move off to the side. Looks GREAT on display in my office, which was a big reason I overlooked the price tag when I added one to my cart.
