Description
The Pro Series II Launch Controller is the ultimate launch controller for any single or clustered rocket! Powered by six, ‘C’ size alkaline batteries (not included), this launch controller provides plenty of energy to your single or two engine cluster rockets. The Pro Series II Launch Controller also features an alternative power source option for launching up to 10 rockets, a two-button arming and launch control system, audible continuity buzzer and 30 feet (9.1 m) of heavy-duty cable with four alligator clips.

Solid, well-built controller. Optimal size makes holding controller very easy. Highly audible armed buzzer sound and easy to see continuity light. This one gets the job done first time every time. Would get 5 stars if alligator connector clips were of higher and more substantial quality to enable more secure igniter lead gripping. Otherwise, this is still the best launch controller on the market and well worth the price.

I’ve used a lot of launch controllers over the years – most recently the blue E launcher. This one us by far the best. Obviously it can handle bigger engines and clusters without any trouble. The audible warning is a nice addition and the whole product is well made. The only reason I’ve given it 4 stars instead of 5 is the battery compartment. It’s fine if you’re going to use Cs, but not so hot for rechargeable packs. I have no idea how you’d get a large enough NiMH pack in the back. A 3-cell LiPo fits but you do need to fiddle with the controller’s springs. Additionally, it would be nice if the back didn’t need to be screwed in place – having to unscrew the back every time you use the launcher will get old. I get the feeling that I will end up damaging the screw heads before too long.
Incidentally, if you want to use a LiPo battery, you’ll need a 1000+mAh 3 cell battery with a JST connector. I had some trouble finding one that fit the bill. If you know how to solder connectors, you’ll be fine, but I don’t. The one I eventually found is 1300 mAh and it has handled a morning’s worth of launches (10+) without missing a beat.

Best buy
Easily the best piece of hardware I’ve acquired since my return to rocketry . I’m planning on switching to a LiPo battery pack eventually but the 6 C batteries work great – even on three motor clusters.

Versatile Controller!
Purchased this controller for my PS II series rockets, but i also use this for some of my low powered, E2X rockets. It works flawlessly! Easy to hold and the audible alarm is fantastic. Launched all of my rockets without a single problem. Thanks Estes!

great for clusters
i use this in my modified 3 standard engine cluster mega mosquito. Works great with my cluster rockets and my mid power rockets to. ESTES NOTE: All of our rockets can be launched using the controller.

Fantastic controller
This controller is fantastic. The 6 Alkaline C batteries are great, and the optional battery choices – especially the LiPo – are beyond great as they can deliver a large amount of current to the igniter(s)/starter(s) allowing reliable launching of cluster rockets.
Leads are nice and long and a very decent (thick) wire guage.
Bright LED continuity lamp, audible safety alert and very comfortable in the hands.
WOW!

Expanding the Pro Series II Product Line
Nice to see ESTES is expanding its line of Pro Series II rocket product line. ESTES really needs to update it’s offerings of launch pads and launch controllers for mid-power Pro Series II rockets.
