Generic E2X®

Good for school. Had some spectacular mistakes from fellow classmates mere hours after Starship IFT-2 launched.

The kit is priced right and easy to build, and the completed rocket flies great. I very strongly recommend this as a first kit for any kid, although participation in the build by an adult/experienced rocket builder will improve the results.
My only nitpick about it is that the stock decal job seems have not been fully finalized before the kit went into production. Several of the body wraps are the wrong size, either are too small to wrap all the way around the body tube or large enough that they must be trimmed to fit. It’s possible, pretty easy actually, to get the rocket to look like it does in the most prominent photo on the packaging, but it’ll only really look good from that angle. It will also mismatch a few of the other photos, which I believe are actually photos of a different example with a different sticker arrangement.
Like the manufacturer, I’d advise a completely customized appearance. If you’re building with a child, let them go crazy with markers or paints or whatever they’d like that won’t be too messy. They’ll end up with something unique and have a bit of a reward for being patient with the build process.

The best starter rocket kit for young to middle grade schoolers! The Generic E2X has all the basic rocket building components except balsa fins. I lead a 2nd thru 5th grade rocket club at our school. They are challenged when it comes to gluing on the balsa wood fins so this is the rocket for them. It files great and is practically indestructible! The mylar decals are hard for them to get straight but using paint pens allow them to make unique colorful creations of this white canvas!
